The parking was a major drawback. It’s a long way from the hotel, and it isn’t free. The price is high and doesn’t feel worth it. Inside, the room was very small, and using the shower and sink at the same time wasn’t possible because they share the same water source, which caused delays in the morning. The bathtub had visible black stains, the windows were filthy, and the slippers looked used despite being presented as “not for use.” There were no proper sheets on the bed, so we had to cover ourselves with an old, heavily used, disgusting blanket that smelled awful. The hotel itself felt old, dirty, and unpleasant. The front desk staff spoke curtly and very little, so they were hard to understand and communication was difficult. The elevator was the biggest issue: it closed on us several times and seemed extremely dangerous, with the potential to cause serious injury. Anyone approaching it should be very cautious. Of all the places I stayed in Japan, this was by far the worst. I’d strongly recommend avoiding it at all costs.

The rooms were clean, and the area was quiet despite being close to Matsumoto train station. Matsumoto Castle is a short 11 min walk away. The front desk staff speak English, and breakfast was good. I’d stay again.

The breakfast was delicious 🫶🏻. The rooms were clean, and the staff were kind and approachable despite a bit of a communication barrier. Matsumoto Station and Matsumoto Castle are both close, about 5-10 mins away.

The desk area is small and has a fridge, but remember to turn it on if you want to use it. The bathroom was clean, with a shower and small bathtub. The double beds had thick covers, so the rooms got hot and we had to crank the AC. The bedrooms were large, the spaces were clean, and the staff were kind. Everything you need is within walking distance. We had a good stay at Hotel Matsumoto Yorozuya.

The hotel is a little dated, but clean. The rooms were spacious and well equipped, and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was excellent for the price included with the stay. It’s in a great spot for both the station and the castle.
