The people at reception were a real highlight. The young man and woman there, both around their 30s, were warm, friendly, and helpful, and often did more than I expected even when I asked something simple. The woman at the breakfast buffet was very kind too. I hope the hotel recognizes their work and keeps them on staff. Breakfast was one of the best we've had at a hotel in Japan, thanks to both the quality and the range of food. There were many choices for Muslims and vegans, unlike places where options can be scarce. The room was small but worked fine for two people and two large suitcases. It was clean, had all the amenities we needed, and even had a smart TV. The coin laundry was excellent, washing and drying our clothes in a reasonable time. The station is about three minutes away, with a 7-Eleven and several shops a one to three minute walk from the hotel. Breakfast was included in the price. I'd definitely like to stay here again if I return to Matsumoto.

A great hotel. You can choose from different pillows, and the welcome drink bar has plenty of liquor and mixers to pick from.

We had a cozy, clean room that was just right for a short stay. The staff were friendly, and breakfast was a nice extra. It's handy for the station, which worked perfectly for me because I had an early train on checkout day. The city center is still about a 10-15 minute walk away.

The staff were generous with the amenities and really helpful when we asked where to go and how to get there. We'd happily stay here again, and we'll tell our friends how lovely Matsumoto is.

After we went out in the morning, we came back in the evening to find a toilet leak, with **urine on the floor**. It was disgusting. Staff moved us to another room, but offered no other compensation. Losing 30-45 minutes to deal with it threw off our plans. By the time we were settled in the new room, the shops we'd planned to visit had closed. The staff member was polite and helped arrange the room change, but this was the worst hospitality experience we've had.
