We had a great stay at Tabi Shiro. It was good value, clean, and comfortable, and both the staff and other guests were friendly. The train station is an easy 15-minute walk away, and the Castle and Frog street are nearby.

My sister and I felt welcome at every turn at this special, lovely hostel. The hosts treated us like old friends and helped us find our way around the beautiful city of Matsumoto. Travel can feel isolating, but here it felt like someone had invited us to stay. Our room was clean and surprisingly quiet, and the breakfast toast was delicious. Tabi Shiro's map of suggested restaurants and shops never let us down. I highly recommend it!

The hostel itself is cozy, clean, and well equipped, and it's well placed for exploring the city or catching the train for day trips. What made the biggest impression was the kind, helpful staff. They suggested great restaurants and bars and made us feel at home right away. Everything about the place felt good. I'd definitely recommend staying here, you'll enjoy it! :)

We loved the friendly staff, the very clean rooms, and the cute little hostel's great common space. It was our first time in a tatami room. We enjoyed trying it, even though we found out we're not fans. Matsumoto is amazing, and I wish we'd had more time there.

The staff were so kind, and the hostel was cozy, super clean, and felt like home. It's an eight-minute walk from the train station. I stayed a few days and used it as a base for trips around the area, including Narai-Juku, Kamikochi, and Hakuba. The best hostel I've ever stayed in. Highly recommend! Thanks to all the staff! 🫶🏻
