The small hot spring bath seemed to fit only one or two people. I also found a faint unpleasant smell in the corridors and rooms, and the facilities felt old. It seemed to be family-run, but the food service was very chaotic and the staff seemed to lack professional training. They could not communicate in English, so foreign tourists had to get by using a few simple English words.

The inn sits in a quiet spot at the foot of the Norikura Plateau. It gets so cool there that you'll need the heating even during Golden Week. Peepolo nearby and this inn were once used as locations for a TV drama starring a hugely popular idol.

I heard the owner died in a traffic accident. This is a photo taken at the inn, which used to be a pension with really good French food.
