The price is crazily cheap, lol! I found the place clean and neat, even though the kitchen looked a bit rough at first. The room and bed were fine, with no complaints, and the place actually felt like home. I can see why some people might have concerns about service and security, since a home and a hotel aren't the same. The staff were kind, and chatting with one of them left me with a good memory.

The old house has a squeaky floor, and its aged feel won't suit everyone, but I found it relaxing and cozy. It's only two minutes from Dogo Onsen tram station, which is a great location. The place itself is small and a bit crowded, with a little kitchen, washing machine, and small Japanese-style shower. Nice and comfortable for budget travelers.

The guesthouse is one of the cheapest options around Dogo, but it has a few issues. It's quite messy, and the walls are so thin that I could hear the girls talking next door and couldn't sleep. The toilet is tiny and has no sink, so brushing your teeth means using the kitchen sink. The owner is reserved and doesn't usually start conversations, though she's happy to chat if you approach her and she's not busy with errands or getting ready for incoming guests. We showed her videos of an old Japanese Spider-Man series from the 70s, and she was really amused, haha.

The old, small house has some charm, but it's stuffed with beds and I wouldn't call it a guest house. There was dust everywhere, nowhere to put my things, and no lockers. My bed was uncomfortable and not clean, with a tiny rock-hard pillow and a quilt that smelled of dust and stale sweat. The bathroom was about the size of a toilet and had no washbasin, so everyone brushed their teeth at the overflowing kitchen sink.

I've never had a worse experience. The place was filthy, and there was no sink in the washroom, so we had to wash our faces and hands and brush our teeth at the kitchen sink. The owners were extremely rude and wouldn't engage with us or even give directions to Dogo Onsen, despite it being a quick three-minute walk and a major, obvious sightseeing spot in Matsuyama. The woman working there was very irritable, while the man stomped around on his phone.
