In Dec 2025, we booked the same room type again and stayed in the Sakura suite. It was right beside the tsubaki suite, essentially the same room laid out in reverse. The service remains top notch, and the food was excellent. Dinner's sashimi, sushi, steak, ebi fry, and desserts were all good. For breakfast, the french toast is still my favorite. There was also a cute stray cat wandering near the car park. On our Apr 2023 stay, the service was first class from arrival to departure. The parking lot is less than a minute's walk from the entrance, and staff helped with our bags both when we arrived from the car and when we left. We stayed in the Tsubaki suite, which had its own in-room hot spring. The room was massive and very clean, with two bathrooms, and the spring was easily big enough for four people. The amenities were nicer than those in the communal hot spring, and the fridge had some delicious sweets and complimentary drinks. We chose the buffet and loved the freshly cooked steak, sashimi, ebi-fry, and desserts. There was something for everyone at dinner. Breakfast was just as good. I especially liked the onsen egg, french toast, and lemon orange gelatin dessert. I'd gladly stay here again.

The food was a real highlight. Both the buffet dinner and breakfast were exceptionally delicious and better than we expected, and the hotel was wonderful for our family with kids. Staff were friendly and showed genuine Japanese hospitality. The building is old, but it's mostly renovated and very well maintained, with traditional artifacts and modern conveniences that make for a lovely atmosphere. Our room was clean and spacious, keeping its traditional arrangement while being fully updated. The hotel is well located, just a short walk from Dogo Onsen, shops, and restaurants. There were some downsides: the hotel hosts many tour groups, which meant loud noise and long lines. The door lock isn't automatic, and a drunk guest mistakenly opened our room door at night. Staff seemed much friendlier to Japanese-speaking guests, probably because of the language barrier.

The room and bathroom were nice, with a deep tub. The onsen has an outdoor area, and the buffet offers plenty of choices.

It's a lovely hotel with big, clean rooms and a nice onsen, just a two-minute walk from Dogo Onsen. It's a little expensive, but it's the best hotel I've stayed at near Dogo. I'll definitely try to book here on my next visit.
