Hotel Route Inn Mihara Ekimae

The room was a decent size, it’s right by the station, and there’s a small Onsen. My only little first-world complaint was that reception didn’t have travel adapters to offer, and I wished the Onsen were just a touch warmer.

There isn’t much around the hotel, which was the only downside for me. The hotel itself was good, and the staff were friendly.

What stood out most was how helpful the staff were. I left my electric toothbrush behind after checking out and had already reached another city before I noticed. I emailed the hotel, they got back to me quickly, and the toothbrush arrived at my new hotel two days later. They even insisted on paying the shipping. I was really impressed by their kindness and professionalism. The room was clean and comfortable, and I enjoyed relaxing in the communal bath after sightseeing. The location was handy for the train station and ferry terminal, especially for trips to the nearby islands. There’s also a grocery store just behind the hotel where you can pick up fresh fruit and vegetables. I had a great stay, and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Communication was difficult because the hotel offered little support in English. I also found housekeeping disappointing: we put out the notice card as requested, but our rooms still weren’t cleaned. The complimentary breakfast didn’t suit many foreign guests, and Indian tastes in particular seemed to be overlooked. The hotel’s hospitality toward international travelers felt limited.
