The sea view is the main draw here, and the traditional breakfast was alright. The place is pretty old, but still very comfortable. For foreign visitors, making a booking may be the main difficulty, since it looks like you can only do it by phone in Japanese.

The food wasn’t delicious, but I enjoyed the quiet, the sea view, and the Japanese atmosphere.

I picked this place for its location near the Shimanami Kaido. The room was clean and fairly spacious, probably fine for two people, and the toilet and bathroom were clean too. I did notice a dog smell when I first entered the building, but it wasn’t in the room. There’s a back entrance on the first floor, handy for going in and out or taking a morning walk. The tatami room had a futon in the closet, so you can lay it out if you’d rather not sleep directly on the tatami. Breakfast was healthy and tasty. The staff were very polite and helpful.

I was worried because it was hard to find a room anywhere, but this inn worked out great. It’s older, though fairly well maintained, and the beds were comfortable. Every room has an ocean view, and breakfast is included in the price, which was good.
