The staff were very helpful, and there’s a vending machine in the lobby. The Nice Inn sits about halfway between the ferry terminal and the JR station, which was convenient. Room sizes vary a lot, from barely bigger than a closet to quite spacious. Some look out at brick walls, while others face the harbor. Breakfast is simple, but enough to get you going. If you want something more substantial, Still Etole at the JR station is an option. I was there for just over a week and appreciated that the nightly rate seemed to go down the longer you stayed. I don’t know whether that’s common in Japan. I’d stay there again if I’m in the area.

The staff kindly let me leave my things before check-in time. Being close to Mihara Station also made it easy to reach the shinkansen.

Breakfast runs until 9am, which seems good for the price. The staff were nice, and the location was okay since it’s near the Jr station. There was an odd smell in the room, though, so bring some air freshener.

After cycling the Shimanami Kaido, I stayed here for a reasonable weekend rate. The bed was really comfortable, and I was happy with the service and the amenities, which covered what I needed. The facilities are old and have a Showa-era feel, but compared with the place I’d stayed the day before in Imabari, this was a better deal. That hotel was older, had a very narrow bed, and cost more than 1.5 times as much. I recommend this one.

I chose this place because it was near a bar where I was meeting friends for drinks. The facilities are old, but it’s good value and well maintained. For an overnight stay, I had no problems, apart from the toilet being quite loud when it flushes.
