When we arrived soaked from the rain, the female receptionist immediately offered us towels. She was so thoughtful. The male front desk staff member spoke very good English and handled fairly complicated conversations smoothly. He also kindly arranged two adjoining rooms, connected internally, for our group of four.
There’s a good breakfast, and the island ferry to Setoda is easy to get to. It’s only a short walk from the train station, and they give you free beer every day of your stay.
We were grateful that Super Hotel Mihara had rooms available and treated us so well. We’d booked online in a hurry after another hotel didn’t answer us at reception. Check-in here was easy, and the attendant spoke English and was extremely helpful. A very nice man, he deserves a raise :D
The rooms were fair, but noise carries between them. We could hear wake-up alarms going off elsewhere. The toilets are loud too, and flushing at night woke the other person when sharing a room. The beds were comfortable, the heating was fantastic, and the breakfast was fun. The coffee was wonderful.
The staff were amazing and really helpful. I accidentally booked the wrong room, but they went above and beyond to accommodate me even though it was my mistake. It’s very close to the port. The rooms are simple but nice, and the buffet breakfast had a great selection every day. The onsen is small and hot, and I enjoyed using it each day of my stay.
