Staying with Sayoko-san on a quiet farm was such a lovely experience. It really felt like visiting my aunt's house.

It had the feel of going back to my grandmother's house, not staying at a hotel. Everyone was kind and friendly, the meals were luxurious, and the bath and toilet were clean. I also loved having a separate building to play in, where we played table tennis. Somehow, the whole place was relaxing. Getting there by car is pretty difficult, though the scenery is beautiful. I also heard that venomous snakes (habu) show up regularly. I'd never stayed at a farm stay before and felt a little nervous, but the good reviews convinced me to book one night as part of my trip. I'm so glad I did. Summer seems like the best time, it feels like being at your grandmother's house during summer vacation, with everyone welcoming you like their own grandchild. I had a great time even for just one night, but I'd like to stay for several next time. It sounds like they have lots of guests from overseas too.

On my first stay, they picked me up in Wakimachi. I heard they sometimes collect guests coming from farther away at Takamatsu Airport or Takamatsu Station too. At the supermarket we visited together, she was so friendly and said, "Put in whatever you like!" The house, with its shoji screens and tatami mats, reminded me of my grandmother's home. Sayo-chan, the guesthouse owner, brought so much energy and cheered everyone up. She made every moment of my stay fun, and hearing about her varied life experiences was fascinating and educational. The bathroom had been renovated and was spotless, with no mold at all. There were two toilets, though one was being repaired, so it never felt crowded. There are two sinks and plenty of futons, and you can even choose how firm you want your pillow. Wi-Fi is available too. It seems like a great place for school trips. Thanks for giving me such a wonderful page in my travels. I'll be back! 😊
