The location on a hill makes for a very quiet setting. The building isn't new, but it's clean and well looked after, with a large hall and training rooms that make it seem like an important local facility. A small staff is clearly working hard to keep things going, and the service was very polite. I had no concerns or complaints. There are restaurants and a lounge bar, though neither was open during my stay. It seemed they only operate for large group bookings. I booked a room-only plan, yet breakfast with bread and coffee was included. For motorcycle touring, the hotel is convenient because it's near the center of the Shikoku road network. I stayed several nights, left my luggage there, and went sightseeing. Early departures were easy too: I could just leave my keys in the basket at the front desk. There's also covered parking that seems suitable for group tours.
I used to stay only at Hotel Matsuka when visiting Wakimachi, but it was full this time, so I looked for another option and came across Seigetsu Yashiki. I booked a twin room for myself. It was roomy, clean, had its own bathroom, and was reasonably priced. It's some distance from town, so you'll need a car to reach restaurants if you're just staying overnight. You can also arrange meals ahead of time if you'd rather not go out. Bread and coffee are included for breakfast. It doesn't feel like a standard business hotel, and seems like a good fit for a quiet stay.
We were very happy with the room, bath, and dinner. After we checked out, the man even called out to us, though it was after hours. 😊 My daughter and I stayed here after climbing Mt. Tsurugi. The receptionist was so kind, explained everything, and showed us around the bar. The man there made us feel welcome with a fun chat and delicious cocktails, and he got hot cocoa for my daughter. Thank you for your hospitality. We're very grateful. 💞😊
Dinner and breakfast were just average. The Japanese-style room felt cramped for three people. The only bathroom was an indoor bath, large enough for five or six people, but it wasn't available in the morning. And it's not a hot spring.♨️ This was my first visit. 💦💦💦☝️
