Hotel M's Est Kyoto Station South

The friendly, helpful staff made both check-in and check-out easy, and the nearby shops and restaurants were handy for late-night snacks. Getting around from Hotel M’s Est Kyoto Station South was simple, since Kyoto Station is only a short walk away, with trains, local buses, and airport connections close by. We took buses or trains to places like Fushimi Inari Taisha, Arashiyama, and Gion, and were able to get going without much fuss. For a comfortable stay with a convenient location and warm service, it’s a good option to consider for a Kyoto trip.

I only spent one night here, but came away with a good impression. The room was spacious, and although we heard some motorcycles at night, they didn’t disturb us. The pajamas provided in my room weren’t clean, so I didn’t use them. Those minor issues were acceptable to us, and we were happy with the stay. Kyoto Station is about 500 meters or a five-minute walk away. Despite the hotel’s name saying “South,” use the Hachijo East Exit, or the route can get confusing and you might get lost.

The room was small, with the bed against the wall, but it was adequate and the queen-size bed felt comfortable. I liked the water refill machine, and there’s also a vending machine on the ground floor. It’s an affordable, clean hotel with the nice extras I’d expect from a good hotel in Japan. Being close to Kyoto station and all the shops and restaurants nearby made our visit.

We found the location useful for sightseeing, with several smaller subway and bus stations, plus Kyoto central station, within a five-minute walk. Nearby konbinis and restaurants were handy too. The room was a bit small and clean apart from stains on the duvet that only showed once we removed the sheet. The bathroom was fairly large for a japanese hotel. The service team was nice, but they refused to arrange a taxi, which shouldn’t be too much trouble for staff at an international hotel.
