Pension Flying Jeep

The host let us check in late after a minor car accident delayed us by almost two hours, which was so kind. The little hut on the hill even made me think I was in Switzerland, with a similar feel and maybe the same fresh air. Dinner was Western-style, like eating at a farmhouse. The ingredients were fresh, and the simple cooking brought out their natural flavors. The host's cake time was a lovely surprise. Freshly baked cake was served, but the best part was gathering all the guests together for drinks and a chat. I only knew a few Japanese words then, but WiFi and Google Translation helped keep the conversation going, with lots of laughter. I'd never had that kind of group chat before and made some new friends. That's what a vacation can be. Well done, host and chef!

There was plenty of delicious food, and the owners were so nice. After dinner, they bake cheesecake for guests and bread for breakfast. You can also hang out after the meal and have drinks with the other guests if you'd like.

The host couple were such a delight, fun to be around, and really helpful. They treated us like friends. This is one of the warmest, nicest hostels I've ever stayed at.

The owner told us lots about Mountain Aso, and the price was reasonable. The house had a nice feel, and the decor was stylish! The meal was delicious too. I'd recommend staying here if you get the chance.
