Masaemon

The food was the highlight of our Sunday, November 30th visit on the "Taste Plan (includes a plate of food and Boshu shrimp)." The sashimi was incredibly fresh, with a huge variety, and the abalone steak was the best I've ever had. My husband and I each chose a different cooking method for the spiny lobster, called Boshu shrimp here, and both were delicious. I've visited many hot spring inns around Kanto, but never had such a luxurious meal. Maybe that's because the husband who cooked it presides over the knife ceremony at nearby Takaie Shrine. The food was absolutely delicious. There were only two guest groups that day. Another party had booked the dining room for dinner, so we ate in the next room, Room 202, and enjoyed our meal for two hours. The inn isn't right on the beach. It's in a laid-back village where we could clearly see black kites circling and hear them calling. Our room had recently been renovated and was very clean. We could use the women's bath as much as we liked that day; it was beautiful and big enough for three people at a time. The landlady was full of energy. When I parked and was about to go in, she came running out and called, "You must be Mr./Ms. XX, right?" That welcome made me feel the hospitality would be great from the start. Saturdays are fully booked, but there seemed to be quite a few openings on other days. I'd definitely like to visit again.

The fish was incredible 🐟. The platter, abalone, spiny lobster, turban shell, sea urchin, and golden-eyed snapper were all top-notch, along with horse mackerel, whale, and more. I wanted to try everything, and I did, even though I was completely stuffed. The bath was spotless, with smooth, comfortable water, and the bamboo lanterns in the garden were lovely 💓. My room was perfectly clean too. The landlady had a lovely smile, and the owner came to see me, so it was a really pleasant stay. As I get older, I find it harder to finish so much food. I'd love to see smaller portion plans or lunch options. I want to keep coming back! ☺️

The room and bath were both lovely and very clean. The staff were pleasant and polite, and I was especially surprised to be given bubbles as a complimentary treat. The seafood was all fresh and delicious. The meal was so good and generous that I left full and very satisfied. I'd definitely like to stay here again. Thank you so much for the hospitality ❣️

The ocean was visible from our room, and we could relax while watching the waves. The innkeepers were warm and welcoming, which made me feel very comfortable. It's a lovely, quiet place by the sea, just right for escaping the city bustle and unwinding. I'd definitely return for the relaxing setting and more good food. The meals were delicious and incredibly generous, leaving me almost full at breakfast as well as dinner. Given today's prices, the quality and amount of food seemed remarkable for the cost. There was a wide variety of carefully prepared dishes, especially fresh sashimi. Boshu shrimp were served in abundance and prepared in several ways, along with sea urchin, abalone, and golden-eyed snapper. It was a sumptuous feast.
