The food is always a highlight, especially the wakame in the miso soup. The sashimi and tempura are great too, and my son loved the grilled grunt fish. Since we have little kids, being able to eat in our room is really handy. There’s an outdoor shower to wash off the sand after the beach, and you can go straight into the bathroom from outside. The air conditioning used to take coins, but it was free by my second visit. This was my third stay here this summer. The owner is cheerful and kind, and it was heartwarming to see their son a little older when I came back after two years, and have him chat with me. I’m sorry my daughter wet the bed.

The room was tidy and comfortable, and the food was good for the price. I liked the big stainless steel bathtub and had a relaxing soak. The mosquitoes were the one problem. It was only June, but four got through the screen door and woke me up several times overnight.

Dinner by the sea as the sunset faded was a lovely experience, and I left the screen door slightly open at night so I could fall asleep to the waves. That was one reason I chose this place. Breakfast in the room, looking out at the morning ocean, was just as satisfying. The dried horse mackerel was juicy, not too salty, and the best I’ve had. The inn is on the coast about 1 km east of Nojimazaki Lighthouse along the Minami Boso Flower Line. The little sandy beach and rocky shore give you a beautiful ocean view, almost like Okinawa. It’s run by a young couple, and the husband was kind and easy to like. The meals came to the room, served in a chef’s outfit, and were carefully made and nicely presented, more like seafood restaurant food than the oversized portions you often get at Minami Boso guesthouses. Everything was delicious. I ate everything except the rice from the cooker at both meals. I ordered spiny lobster ahead of time, had it as sashimi at dinner and in miso soup at breakfast. It was excellent, and 3,000 yen for all of that felt very reasonable. There are two baths. One fits about three people and has two washing areas. It isn’t hot spring water, but it’s said to be very soft, and my skin felt smooth and moisturized afterward. I have another place to stay next time now.

Dinner was mostly fish, with enough food to satisfy an adult man, and it was delicious. They started serving at 6:00 PM. I was traveling alone on my motorcycle on a weekday in September 2024, and breakfast and dinner together came to around 10,000 yen, which felt like good value. Weekends and summer may be hard to book. I’d booked an ocean-view room and checked in around 4:30 PM. The view was amazing, and although the inn is by the road, it isn’t on the main street. The sound of the waves was really soothing. Ocean-view rooms are limited, so keep that in mind if the view matters to you. Check-in is from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with the time set when you book. It’s a quiet, relaxing guesthouse. The nearest convenience store is about a 30-minute round trip on foot, but there’s a supermarket about a three-minute drive away, which I’d recommend using. I’d happily stay here again whenever I get back to the area, any season. Thank you.

The building is a bit old, but it’s clean and there were no issues. I stayed on a weekday in October and ordered the spiny lobster for 3,500 yen. It was served live, still moving. There’s no refrigerator, so bring a cooler if you want to bring your own drinks. If you’re not particular about the brand, buying alcohol at the inn is easier, and the prices aren’t too high.
