Hotel Silk Tree Nagoya

A comfortable stay and good value if you’re visiting Nagoya on a budget. Just know that the walls are thin, so bring earplugs if noise makes it hard for you to fall asleep.

The beds are very comfortable, and being on the line to Ghibli Park is a bonus. It’s a solid three-star hotel, cheap, and has an old-fashioned style that we found endearing and cool.

The location made getting around easy, with a convenience store with an ATM nearby and a subway entrance close by. The walls are thin, but since it’s not in the city center, outside noise wasn’t a concern for me. Toiletries and skincare items are self-serve in the lobby. They also give you a coin for a free drink of your choice from the vending machine, which was thoughtful. Luggage storage was handy when I wanted to explore after checking out. I booked through a third-party app that didn’t let me choose a non-smoking room, and the room I got smelled strongly of cigarettes. I also didn’t ask to switch rooms, which was my mistake. Aside from that, I had a pleasant stay, and I’ll probably book here again if I return to Nagoya.

It’s close to Fushimi station, but if you care about a comfortable bed and pillow, this place isn’t for you. I’d recommend apa or somewhere else.
