Aunties House

The inn is right in Ishiuchi Maruyama ski resort, so the slopes are practically at the door. We came for a family ski trip and were greeted by the owner and a cute cat. The kids loved the cat and the homelike feel, and the hosts welcomed us warmly despite all their excitement. The only disappointment was that the cat didn't take to me, even though I'm a huge cat lover. We ordered several dishes à la carte, along with plenty of drinks. Everything was beautifully presented and delicious. I was amazed to find ballotine chicken at a guesthouse for the first time, though I forgot to take a photo. I've always enjoyed staying in guesthouses, and this feels like the one I've been looking for. I definitely want to come back next season. I'll get in touch then. Thanks so much for everything!

The parking lot is a little way off, but only a minute or two on foot. The guesthouse cats are adorable and wander around indoors. Meals were delicious, and I could feel the owner's care in both breakfast and dinner, so I looked forward to eating each day. It's right beside the ski slopes in Ishiguchi Ward, Ishiuchi-yama, and you can ski back to the guesthouse at the end of the day. A great winter ski stay.

The building is definitely showing its age, but I keep coming back for the delicious food. The owner has a personality that really draws me in, and he doesn't go out of his way to please customers. I've been returning for almost 10 years now, and I hope to see him again next time.
