Irorian

A great hotel, but it's in the middle of nowhere and the nights get really boring.

It was quiet during our early December visit, just right for anyone looking for a peaceful, private stay. I would definitely like to come back. Thank you to the landlady and staff. On the drive to Irorian I got lost, so I called the hostess. She listened while I explained and kindly guided me there, and we arrived safely. Once we checked in, she showed us to our room, which had a kotatsu. Apparently guest rooms have kotatsu in winter. There was an indoor hot spring and an outdoor one. The herbal bath was closed, but we still warmed up nicely. Dinner started at 6:00 PM, with two time slots to choose from. We ate in the dining area by ourselves while other groups used a different hall. The food was served freshly grilled, and they asked when we wanted the final rice. Everything was delicious, especially the soba-gaki. We had the standard course plus crab and a tasting of three kinds of sake. Breakfast began at 7:30 AM. The rice, made with Shinnosuke rice, was cooked in a pot. We had a range of local dishes, including nameko miso soup and tofu heated in a small pot, as well as kirizai, or dried vegetables. It was a very satisfying meal.

The room, meals, atmosphere, and service all felt warm and welcoming, and I had a wonderful New Year's holiday here. Thank you for looking after me. I left something behind, contacted you, and got a quick response. Thanks again!

Dinner and breakfast were both delicious. I found the large public bath and its connected open-air bath really relaxing. I'd like to stay again.
