We had the largest hotel room we've stayed in during our time in Japan. It had tatami and shoji screens, with a bed instead of a floor mattress, though the bed was firm. Most guests wore slippers and yukatas around the hotel, but some didn't, so we felt fine staying in our usual clothes and sneakers. The hotel was easy to find, had parking, and was right by a 7/11. The staff didn't speak English, but they were patient and still gave good service. At the dinner buffet, the workers quickly showed us how to use the little tabletop grill at our table.

The place has an old-fashioned, nostalgic feel, and it's clean and well looked after despite its age. We had great service, a lovely hot spring, and really good food. I'd happily come back if I'm in the area.

Dinner is a real treat during crab season, when you can eat as many delicious crab legs as you like. There's seafood to grill, too. For the price, this onsen hotel is good value, though the room feels a little dated.

The service was wonderful, as you'd expect in Japan. The drawback is the location: it's quite far from the part of Misasa with the onsen, which makes getting around inconvenient for many visitors. The building also looks rather out of place at the entrance to town.
