It’s fine for a night, especially if you’re catching an early train. The view and a few local specialties at the breakfast buffet were nice, and although renovations were happening, I didn’t hear any noise. I know staff can’t always speak English, and I try my best in Japanese, but being told “You must pay” in English, the equivalent of Pay! in Japanese, without a please or thank you didn’t feel professional. The rooms run hot. The air conditioning in my first room was old and didn’t work well, so I asked to move. I was very grateful they didn’t charge extra for the room change. Business hotel beds in Japan are often hard, but this was the hardest one I’ve slept on, and I had trouble sleeping.

The rooms have a dated, retro 80s look, but they’re clean and functional. We were just passing through before our flight back to the US, and it was convenient for train travel with an easy bus ride to and from the airport. There are plenty of places to eat and shop, including two proper grocery stores for a bigger selection than convenience stores. The second-floor shop has a much wider range of wine, beer, and cheese. The vegetables are tucked away in the ground-floor grocery.

A Yours supermarket is right next door, and Takashimaya department store and Aeon Mall are each a two-minute walk away. The train station is also just two minutes on foot. My husband and I stayed for four nights in October 2025 and really appreciated the attentive staff. We had a spacious, luxurious room on the 16th floor, with drawers for unpacking and several shelves in the dressing area outside the bathroom. It made for a comfortable, relaxing vacation.

Friendly staff, clean and well-kept rooms with good space, and a great view. The location is handy too, near the train station, a large shopping mall, and some nice restaurants.

The location is excellent, and there’s a convenient car park in the basement. Breakfast includes a main course along with buffet refreshments, all very high quality. I’ve stayed at many Granvia hotels, and the management here was flawless. It’s a high-class, well-maintained hotel, and I’ll definitely stay again when I return to Okayama.
