Mumuko made a lasting impression with her lively personality and thoughtful help. She seemed to anticipate what I needed, and every interaction with her was a delight. I really appreciated how clearly the Japanese buffet dishes were labeled in both English and Japanese. That was especially helpful with my lactose intolerance, and I could try the wide range of food with confidence. The buffet was wonderful. The front desk staff who spoke English made arrival and sorting out my reservations easy, and the kindness and attention from the whole team kept the stay feeling welcoming. I had a remarkable Japanese experience here, and I'm already looking forward to coming back. I'll happily recommend this place.

We lost 5000 yen in the elevator and only noticed about five minutes later. We rushed back to search, but it was nowhere to be found. At reception we asked whether anyone had turned it in, and amazingly, someone had found it and brought it to the front desk. That kindness says a lot about the people at Hoshino Resorts Aomoriya. The guests and staff we met were respectful and wonderful, and the atmosphere and service made the whole stay lovely. We'd gladly come back and highly recommend it.

We loved strolling through Komaki Onsen Shibusawa Park, with its mix of architecture and nature, great photo spots, and snowy paths where our child could play. The pony house was a hit with them too. The free shuttle from Misawa Station made getting here easy. Aomoriya has a strong local feel throughout, with traditional performances, games, seasonal activities, souvenirs, and complimentary apple juice. The onsen is lovely, especially the outdoor one in winter with its atmospheric lighting. There are plenty of ways for families to spend a relaxed holiday without leaving the resort: the room, baths, activities, shopping, and meals. Dinner and breakfast had excellent variety and value, and the central lounge had good complimentary coffee and chocolate drinks. Our Ogurami room was comfortable and functional, although it looked more dated in person than in the website photos. The bedding was comfortable, and the large U-shaped sofa was a relaxing spot with plenty of charging points. I also liked the practical desk setup, where I could work or watch a tablet from the stool or the bed. The main downside for us was the bathroom. The room felt old, and there was visible yellow staining and mould around the tub and shower, which stood out against the resort's otherwise high standards. The newer-looking rooms online seem to be for two people, and we wonder if they are in newer East or West building additions, though we're not sure. Even with that room issue, we had a memorable stay with great food, a relaxing atmosphere, and lots of family-friendly things to do. I'd recommend Aomoriya to people who care more about the experience, local character, and onsen culture than having an ultra-modern room. The resort itself was excellent, though personally I'd put it closer to 4.5 stars because of the room.

Takaya-san, who checked us in, kept checking on our family during the stay and made us feel so looked after. The buffet was also a big help because someone in our group has a severe allergy. We had a wonderful time at Aomoriya Resort, and the staff's hospitality and facilities really impressed us. Hope we can return soon! 🍎🐴✨
