Misawa in Koyo

The bathroom drain smell was a little bothersome, and the air conditioner filter was so clogged with dirt that I didn't feel comfortable using it, given the possibility of dust mites and viruses. The room was clean and breakfast delicious, which were both good. I plan to come back in a season when air conditioning is essential, and hope they improve the filter.

At 5,200 yen per night including tax, I couldn't figure out how they provide breakfast this good and a large public bath for so little. Service was polite, Wi-Fi worked well, parking was free, and there were lots of convenience stores and restaurants nearby. They even had bicycles to rent. Other business hotels could easily charge twice as much, I think.

The breakfast is a strong point, and the main dish changes daily, so I don't get bored. Yesterday it was pork fillet cutlet. I've stayed at other business hotels nearby, and this one's breakfast is pretty good. The large public bath is another selling point. It's good value for money, and the rooms aren't especially clean, but there isn't anything that bothers me. Internet speed is quite good. You can't book online through Rakuten or other sites, so you need to make the reservation by phone.

The hotel is old, but I got the sense they're actively putting money into the facilities. My room may be an unusual case for a business hotel, but the bathroom and toilet were separate. The Wi-Fi was good, and the air conditioner had been replaced.
