8/10
The rooms are pretty ordinary, but the location is GREAT. From Mito Station's South Exit, you can walk straight to the escalator that goes down to the hotel. The standout for me was breakfast, especially the miso mackerel cooked by an elderly couple. It was very, very delicious, the best stewed mackerel I've had, better than at many restaurants I've tried. Inchiban to the couple, and thanks to APA Hotel for serving such a delicious breakfast.

A modest hotel with helpful, polite staff. Breakfast was reasonable.

This was the best hotel of our Japan trip. It's very close to Mito Station, and our room was spacious, larger than the usual hotel rooms in Tokyo. The price was significantly cheaper, too.

The room was tiny, almost like a cabin. The food was OK, but there are much better hotels in the area.

We left as soon as we got into the room. This wasn't the best choice in Mito.
