Central Resort Miyakojima

We've stayed at this hotel before, but after this bad experience we won't come back. Avoid booking in the “B” building. The rooms have mold and mildew, and management didn't try to help when we were unhappy. The staff's attitude was appalling, especially given that tourism is the island's main source of income. Save your money and find somewhere better, with staff who care when guests are unhappy.

There was no furo or onsen at the hotel, just a shower in the room, so I didn't feel the price was justified. We stayed five days and got the same breakfast each morning. I asked the front desk to book a taxi, but no details were ever passed along. There's no in-room phone either, so I had to queue in the lobby whenever I had a question. The rooftop terrace was disappointing too. Other islands blocked the sunset, and buildings on the other side blocked the sunrise.

They offer a good rate for online reservations without requiring a deposit. The hotel is right in the city center, convenient for shopping and restaurants. Miyako Central hotel supplies softened water through the taps and showers. It removes calcium ions from the naturally hard water around the coral reefs. The water feels a little slippery, but works well with soap.

A comfortable, clean place right in the city center. Breakfast was simple and tasted good.
