Hotel Santa Barbara Miyakojima Resort

It’s in a central spot on the island, right by the old Miyago airport, while the new one is shimoji. There’s free coffee, water, and snacks, and free parking was a nice bonus. Having laundry on site was great, and there’s a hose outside the building for rinsing off sand. An easy win for a first stay here. Mahalo!

We were three people and paid about ¥10000 a night. It felt worth it, especially with a spacious room and a washing machine. The staff were welcoming and nice, and we had no problems during our stay.

The rooms are spacious, and the hotel is really good. There aren’t staff around, but there’s a 24-hour guest center you can call if you need help. There’s a large car park, and on a clear night you can see beautiful stars because there isn’t much light pollution nearby.

I’ve stayed here twice already. It’s conveniently close to the airport and the car rental company I used, pine retal car. Downtown and the beach are about 10 minutes away by car. For a fun beach day, I recommend Yonaha Beach, and for swimming with fish, Aragusuku Beach. For a longer stay, the hotel has what you need: a kitchen, washing machine, dryer, towels, and so on. The chain has other hotels on Miyakojima, so I might try a different one next time I visit, but Santa Barbara is definitely good value.
