The room was large, clean, and had all the amenities, with a separate toilet and bathroom and a big, comfortable bed. Breakfast was tasty, and the gentleman at reception was nice. But we didn't realize it was a love hotel until an email arrived a few hours before check-in, when we were given the option to cancel for free. We were okay with that, though I wish we'd known more in advance. We hadn't understood that the doors lock when you enter and stay locked until you pay the next day. The language barrier was probably part of it. Carrying all our suitcases was a problem because the doors had already locked by the time I went back to the car. We found online that some love hotels in Japan work this way, which calmed me down, but my friend was really upset. In a country that felt less safe than Japan, it would have been frightening. The window was completely shut too, with no way to open it. In the morning we also didn't know how to tell reception we wanted to pay, and we were still locked in. If there had been information explaining the door, I'd give it five stars. It was an interesting and funny experience, but still a little scary.

It's worth knowing this is a love hotel for couples. The door locks automatically when you arrive and stays that way until you leave. Even so, the place was clean, cozy, and very comfortable, with everything we needed. The jacuzzi, massage chair, and toiletries were all good, and breakfast was very good too. They don't speak English, and it was hard to understand how the hotel works. You arrive, leave the car, and go up to your room, but since they don't speak Japanese, you have to call and make yourself understood. I wouldn't recommend it for children.

A male staff member spoke to me rather forcefully as I was leaving, saying I'd ordered a mug and should pay for it. He'd assumed I'd done something wrong. He apologized later and said it was a misunderstanding, but it spoiled my birthday celebration.

The official website was out of date. I didn't know the coupon had expired or the prices had gone up, so the trip was a waste. I want my time and gas money back. The front desk service was awful too. None of the locations in this chain are decent. I don't even want to give it one star.
