Rakuten Stay House X Will Style Miyazaki Aoshima

The only things I liked were the extra space compared with a regular hotel room and the semi-kitchen, which was handy for light use. I stayed at Rakuten STAY HOUSE x WILL STYLE Aoshima shortly after it opened, when everything was new and clean. Since then, the experience has been disappointing. Getting in was a mess. I never got proper instructions or an email explaining the code system, and the process was confusing and slow. There’s no front desk, and it was hard to reach support. The place itself feels like two identical prefab white boxes dropped into a parking lot. There’s no character or thought for the surroundings, no view, and no connection to beautiful Aoshima nearby. It seems like a missed chance in such a scenic area. Inside, the living and dining spaces are decent sized, but the materials and finishes feel as cheap as possible. The bathroom is a tiny plastic unit with a small tub and a cramped toilet tucked under the stairs. The vanity had only a few amenities and almost no storage. There’s no soundproofing between floors. Every footstep and voice carries, so there’s little privacy or quiet if you’re with family or friends. The upstairs projector never worked despite several attempts to get help. My kids were really disappointed, and nobody came to fix it. The kitchen looks nice at first, but it’s poorly equipped, with no proper knives or cooking tools, so don’t expect to make real meals. The microwave, fridge, and other appliances are the lowest-grade models. Every window looks onto parking lots. You’re not on the beach or near the water. It’s hard to believe a company like Rakuten is operating accommodation without hospitality experience. It feels more like a tech company experiment to make quick money than a place made for guests. It may look modern and practical online, but in person it’s sterile, inconvenient, and badly thought out. There are better Airbnb options nearby with hosts who care about design and comfort. I wouldn’t stay again or recommend it.
