Shimoda Prince Hotel

The room was spacious, the bed was just right, and I had an incredible view. The staff were the friendliest and most professional I’ve ever come across. My husband couldn’t join me this time, but I can’t wait to come back with him. It was a wonderful stay.

The room felt a little worn, but it had everything we needed. We could see the ocean and beach and hear the waves. Dinner had great choices, and the substantial breakfast buffet had something for everyone.

There was plenty of food to choose from, the weather was lovely, and our room was really spacious. The view from it was amazing too!

The ocean view and breakfast were the bright spots. The rooms, though, were dirty, mouldy, and full of insects. The furniture was old, the carpet was filthy, and there was a disgusting smell. I don’t trust the photos anymore; the view is the only thing they show accurately. The bathroom corners were covered in mould, and the lack of cleaning was disgraceful. There were buckets in the corridors and lobby to catch dripping water, and listening to the drips made the stay even more frustrating. We expected the same comfort, care, sophistication, and hygiene as at the Prince Hotel in Tokyo.
