Dinner was the best part of my stay. The other staff were friendly, but the woman who checked me in looked unimpressed when I turned down the complimentary wine with dinner. It made me feel as though she looked down on me for not drinking alcohol. I also didn't feel comfortable walking barefoot inside the hotel, and the stairs were quite steep.

The food was fantastic, especially the grilled fish and crab, and breakfast was different each day. The chef really knows how to grill. Special thanks to Tamaki-san, who was so kind and attentive. We stayed two nights. The staff spoke only a little English, but they paid close attention to our dietary preferences and travel needs. They offer a free shuttle to and from Miyazu station, coffee and tea throughout the day, and free-flow sake and shochu at night. It's a small family-run place, and the atmosphere felt like home.

The building has a lot of history and is still very well maintained. We felt the sincere omotenashi of a Japanese-style hotel during our visit. The food was delicious, and the staff were warm and welcoming.

Everything felt full of history, from the wood to the details, and the place is well maintained. The service was warm and the meals were nice. I'd recommend it if you're looking for a traditional onsen hotel.
