We came in winter during the off season, and the hotel was still fully operating. The staff were really friendly and helpful. We stayed for two nights and were pleasantly surprised by the meals. Dinner was six courses, felt like fine dining, and had a different menu each day. Breakfast alternated between Japanese and Western styles. We enjoyed both the food and the service.

It was very quiet. There were only four guest groups there that day in August.

The hot spring was so relaxing, and the room was large. Staff were friendly too. I’d recommend the French-style dinner set. Everything tasted fresh and was cooked beautifully.

The rooms were clean and seemed to have been renovated, but they forgot to put a bathroom in the room. So you have to bathe in the onsen area. That’s a problem for women who are menstruating and can’t use a public bath. The hotel designer must have missed that. The onsen area itself is showing its age.

The chef deserves my particular thanks. The food was excellent, and the service was exemplary. I was really impressed with the whole experience.
