We loved the private bath and the food was rich and delicious throughout our two-night November stay. The accommodation was spectacular, and the staff did a fantastic job catering to our food allergies. The woman who looked after us was especially lovely. She spoke little English and we spoke little Japanese, but she often used Google Translate to explain things about the hotel and check that we were enjoying ourselves. It was definitely worth the trip out here.

The bath opens onto a beautiful river view, and there’s a private bath on the patio alongside a traditional Japanese room. Getting here may take some effort, but it’s worth it. It’s an amazing place, though you’ll want to make a reservation early if you can.

The view from the room was stunning, and the staff were genuinely friendly and polite. One meal included an impressive spread of beef, chicken as an add-on, fish, and pork.

Right in the heart of the Iya Valley, this was a fantastic place to stay. We had a traditional room with a hot bath on a private balcony, and the staff were attentive, even waving us off from the car park. The food and staff were amazing. Highly recommended.

The duvet was the best, light but really warm, and the local food was great. Each guest room has its own onsen, which made for a pleasant stay. My only concern was that it gets cold in winter.
