The Hiramatsu Karuizawa Miyota

There was a mix-up with the noon station pickup. At 12:07 I had to check on it, and only then were we helped to our car. The rooms are spacious and thoughtfully designed, with plenty of spots around the hotel to unwind. The evening campfire was a nice touch. We ate at the French restaurant. The food was good, though the atmosphere felt a little stuffy.

The service could use more attention to detail for a hotel at this price. There was no breakfast menu and the dishes were simply brought out, and after I mentioned my dietary needs twice, I was served something I couldn't eat. No big deal, but it shouldn't happen at this price point. Even so, leaving nearly brought me to tears. The snowy setting felt magical, the rooms were stunning, and the atmosphere was amazing. The campground ⛺️ was a beautiful surprise, the staff were lovely, and the in-room Onsen was A1. I loved the pajamas and lounge wear. I'd love to come back with more time to explore nearby.

A good hotel with amazing service, aside from the restaurant repeatedly forgetting some of my dishes. The food itself was good. It's a lovely, swanky place for a couple or family to relax. There's an onsen in the room, supplied with water from nearby, and you can open the doors to make it open air. The room drinks were great, especially the apple and peach juice. Only the alcoholic drinks cost extra.

If I could give the hotel 8 stars out of 5, I would. My husband and I stayed six nights in room 207, the forest suite, from Jan 30th to Feb 5th. Thank you for such a wonderful week at Nagano. We'll definitely return. The Italian restaurant was the one disappointment. We ate there on our first night, and the food wasn't good by Italian standards. We've travelled to Italy even more than Japan. My seafood broth had mussels that didn't seem very fresh, and the portions were too small. That's why we didn't eat there every night. The rest of the stay was wonderful. Reservations replied quickly to my enquiry with accurate, helpful information. Before we arrived, Kaito Yamamoto sent directions for getting to the hotel safely, including a mapcode, and mentioned it was along Asama Sunline Road. That helped a lot because it was winter, already dark when we arrived around 6pm. Every staff member we encountered was kind and helpful. The room was cleaned efficiently and thoroughly each day, and the room, onsen, and bathroom were very clean and well maintained. My husband used the onsen every night and was very pleased. Housekeeping thoughtfully left water bottles by the bed with a glass, since we drink a lot, and turndown included sweet treats and little pillow mists. Please pass our praise on to the housekeeping team. At reception, they checked each day when we were heading out and whether we needed more information or wanted turndown service. The staff always greeted us with a smile when we left and came back. The gentlemen helping with the car had it ready whenever we were leaving, without us needing to ask, and helped us park it each night. We don't find that kind of service in every hotel in japan, not even the FUFU group. It was much appreciated in the cold, with the carpark farther away, especially by my husband. Breakfast service was prompt, and the food was always hot and fresh. We had Japanese breakfast every morning, and it was delicious. The fish was particularly well prepared. My husband never eats mackerel, but he said yours was so well seasoned and cooked that he wanted the recipe!
