Business Hotel Yachiyo

The parking lot and nearby Lawson were the good points. Inside the room, warning signs were posted everywhere, which I found unpleasant. The bathroom felt bleak, like a run-down Showa-era apartment, and I didn't want to use it. The towels looked unappealing and didn't absorb well.

I was here for an extended work stay. The room was a decent size, and having the bathroom and toilet separate was nice. They offered a bath salt at the front desk when I checked in. The reception gentleman had a lot to explain, and there are quite a few comments about him. Maybe a written explanation or a guide in the room would make things simpler. Apart from his way of speaking, he was kind. The laundry area at the back of the first floor costs extra and can be occupied often, perhaps because many construction workers stay here. A massage chair and microwave are on the third floor, to the right when you leave the elevator. There's no air purifier. The air conditioning is automatic, so I couldn't change the temperature, airflow direction, or fan speed. Maybe because it was summer, the comforter was very thin. I first assumed the air conditioner would cool the room a little more, but I got quite cold while sleeping. I'm not sure if it was related, but blankets were available. Mobara Station South Exit is about a 15-minute walk away. There aren't restaurants in the hotel, but there's a convenience store and Komeda Coffee very close by, plus izakayas and restaurants nearby. Two supermarkets are about a 10-minute bike ride away, and being able to rent a bicycle was handy. Wi-Fi was average or a little slow, and it disconnected several times overnight.

The duvet cover had pubic hair and human hair all over it, so I wasn't confident about the room cleaning. I told the front desk, and they offered to move me, but I declined because I thought the next room might be the same. If they think this is okay just because it's a business hotel, they're mistaken. They need to do their work properly as professionals, or customers will leave.

The receptionist was kind, and I'm grateful they listened to my rather selfish requests. The towels were soft and smelled nice. I had a separate bathroom and toilet, and they gave me a bath additive. There was a massage machine and a microwave in the third-floor hallway. I wish there were a microwave on the second floor too. I couldn't adjust the air conditioning from the room, so I hope they can fix that. It was a smoking room, but the smell didn't bother me, perhaps thanks to the spray used during the coronavirus pandemic. I'd recommend it.
