Hotel Okhotsk Palace

For a budget stay, this place does the job. It's a worn and tired hotel that's seen better days, with a small but manageable room. The bathroom is basic, though the tub is deep. Best part is getting a sea-view room and watching the sun rise right in front of you from bed 😍. There are quite a few eateries nearby, while Aeon mall is a fair distance away, so we drove.

A good place to stay, especially during the world-famous Drift Ice season. If you want a view of the sea and harbour, this is a good choice. Book a sea-side room and you can watch a spectacular sunrise over the Northern Pacific Okhotsk sea.

Public transport is scarce. The building is the tallest in town, so it's very easy to find. Breakfast was fine, with both Japanese and American-style options.

The room was tight but comfortable, and there was free parking. It's a typical hotel on the coast of Mombetsu, with nothing especially impressive or bad apart from the bedding: it seems the bed cover is the larger comforter, while the actual blanket is just another sheet. From the room you can see the Ohkotz tower. Outside, turn right and there's a small supermarket with a decent ramen stall attached. Aeon mall is about a 7-10 minute walk to the left.
