We stayed one night on 10/18/2025 as part of a 34-person group tour from Taiwan. The location made it easy to get around, and breakfast was pretty good. But the carpet in our room and in the hall was awful, with dirty spots everywhere and a stale smoke smell. It’s the most disgusting hotel carpet I’ve seen in Japan, where hotels are usually very clean and cleanliness is part of the culture. I wouldn’t recommend staying until the carpet is replaced. The beds were too soft from age, though that was a minor issue next to the carpet.

The location is great, but the hotel feels extremely dated and badly needs renovation for what they charge per night. There are better options nearby that probably cost about the same.

I came to Morioka for work at first and usually stayed at national chains or JR-affiliated business hotels near Morioka Station. As I got fond of Morioka, I started choosing local hotels when I could. Some may be behind on newer buildings, rooms, or amenities, but there are lots of lovely places with warm smiles, greetings, real conversation that manuals can’t provide, and breakfasts that feel homemade. This was my first time at this hotel, and I was very satisfied with my night. I could only book a smoking room, but the smell was kept down enough that I wasn’t bothered by the bed, rental pillows, or towels. The front desk staff were friendly, and the breakfast buffet had plenty of choices and tasted great. Morioka has so many good hotels that it’s hard to pick one.
