Bookers, be aware. This place shouldn’t be called a hotel; I’d give it zero stars and call it a motel. It was run down, dingy, and utterly disgusting. The whole floor and our non-smoking room smelled of smoke, and the carpets in and outside the room were gross. The room was badly worn, with extremely thin walls. We paid 8700 yen, which was a rip-off. Even for 1000 yen, I’d never stay here. It just wasn’t sanitary. Extremely disappointed.

It’s almost opposite the train station, with just an underground stair tunnel to cross, so the location is perfect. The rooms aren’t large, but they’re clean and fine for a rest, and the staff are very kind. Breakfast was a bit meager. I ended up buying jam at a konbini since there was nothing to put on the bread. The croissants were good, though.

The location is still a plus, just 2 minutes from the tunnel to Morioka Station. But the WiFi was the worst I’ve had at a hotel. The signal was weak and kept dropping, which made it really frustrating to update my daily tour log without internet. I was in town on an overbooked weekend and paid a lot more than the usual room rate. For that price, the service and amenities weren’t worth it. I should’ve paid a little extra and stayed at the Daiwa next door.

There was no air conditioning, only warm air. I just couldn’t accept the staff repeatedly saying sorry. Be careful booking here in summer.

The staff are the only reason I’m giving this place one star. The rooms, hallways, and locator were all awful, moldy and musty. The bed was the only thing that was okay.
