The garden and all its tropical plants and animals were my favorite part of this beautiful house. It also has a lovely tatami space, a fully equipped kitchen, a bathtub, air conditioning, and a TV. A 24-hour convenience store is just a five-minute walk away, and a taxi to the aquarium takes about 12 minutes and costs around 1,500 yen. You can also walk up the mountain to explore the beautiful park and cemetery and enjoy the tropical flora. Just amazing.

It has an old-fashioned feel, and the big dorm-style sleeping area is great for little kids to crawl around in. There’s a kitchen where you can cook too. Just keep in mind that insects may be an issue if you’re afraid of them, though it’s fine if you love nature. The parking entrances and exits are pretty narrow, so you’ll need to be a confident driver, though I guess that’s common in Japan. Next time I’m planning to stay two nights. One day just isn’t enough!

Our group of six, including my parents and children, spent two nights in this house with a garden in a small rural village. It was a lovely chance to make memories and enjoy the coziness of a Japanese home, rather than the convenience of a hotel or condo. The barbecue setup was a nice extra. If you can, I recommend staying at least two nights.
