The sunrise from my window was beautiful, and the morning view was fascinating. I was the only guest that day, and the owners did their best to make me comfortable. I enjoyed chatting with the woman over breakfast. There’s a large parking lot, so I imagine parking is fine even when there are lots of guests.

I like staying here because it’s within walking distance of Mikurodo cave, where kukai meditated. The place is around 100 years old, and the people running it are very kind. It seems to be fully booked most of the time. I stayed twice this year, and there’s a lot to explore nearby.

The building is a little old, but I found the traditional washitsu rooms with tatami mats really relaxing, especially with that lovely sea view. The hosts were so kind and ready to help with anything I needed. The food was delicious and the location beautiful. I had a wonderful stay and highly recommend it.

It’s a quirky place, so dated that it becomes interesting and cute. The rooms are roomy and comfortable, and the woman who runs it is caring and very kind. A great experience!

The owners were incredibly welcoming and kind, and they made our bike tour of Japan memorable, as did many other people we met. Richi is a wonderful chef whose meals are both artistic and delicious, and her husband, a saki Sommelier, can help you find a pairing for your food. Our older room was rustic but charming and very clean. For an ocean view, you can splurge on a room in the modern building. There’s also a nice bath and a washer and dryer. The hotel dates to the 1930s and feels like a time capsule from an Uzo film set. We loved staying here, just minutes from an UNESCO Geo- park Site. Don’t miss the promenade walk just behind the hotel. We had a large tandem bike, and they let us store it in the entryway. It was raining, so we stayed two nights, and there was plenty to do within walking distance. Domo arigato gozaimatsu 🙏
