Sendai feels really vibrant. The room was great, near the train station and tucked on a quiet alley by a galleria. There’s an elevated walkway two stories up that takes you almost to the street.

This is a good option for an economical stay. The cleaning and facilities get only 4.5 out of 10 from me. The heater was unpleasantly low quality and didn’t do enough for a room that size. The building and some facilities also looked a bit old. Soundproofing between rooms wasn’t good, and I could clearly hear noises from nearby rooms.

Convenience stores and places to eat are all around, and it’s close to JR and the subway. The mattress sits low and feels harder than I like.

The location is excellent, close to JR, the subway, and a huge shopping arcade. There’s enough floor space for a two-person sofa, the pillows are firm, and the room has a smartphone with tethering in case the wifi gets jacked up. The bathroom is small even by Japan’s standards. I’m only 170 cm (5" 7'), but an obstruction meant I was about as tall as you could be and still shower without crouching. Another inch and I would’ve hit the ceiling. The tub is so narrow that soaking isn’t very comfortable either.

The rooms were serviced daily, and everything was quite clean and very quiet. Staff were nice and accommodating, and the price was very good for a hotel with all the essentials. It’s also super close to Sendai Station and the shopping district.
