With mountain and rice field views, this is a place to visit in any season, only fifteen minutes from city centre. The Japanese hotel is breathtaking, with impeccable taste, styling, and unbelievable design. The staff are wonderful and friendly, always ready to answer questions and help make your stay first class.
Whenever I’m in Joetsu-Myoko, Kawaratei is my go-to onsen. My partner’s family lives ten minutes away in Myoko, so we always come here to relax. I love the onsen water’s slimy feel and distinctive smell.
The outdoor bath had a beautiful view of the lane of cherry blossom trees when we visited during springtime. We came here for a second time after day camping in Itoigawa’s Nou area, and it was a perfect place to end the day before heading back to Nagano. It’s quite far from a train station, though. The first time, we had to call a taxi, so driving here would be better.
The food comes out really fast and tastes delicious. Highly recommended for everyone.
