Myoko House - Hostel

Nathan and Akiko were warm, helpful hosts who went well beyond what we expected. They even made sure my dietary needs were covered, and the home-cooked meals were both healthy and delicious. The rooms and shared spaces were neat and practical, with a well-kept kitchen and a cozy corner for relaxing in the evening. They also shared useful ideas for exploring nearby places and helped us get to and from the snow fields and trains. We loved every minute at Myoko House and highly recommend it.

After seven nights at Myoko House, we're home and already thinking about returning. Nathan and Akiko were lovely hosts, and their knowledge of the area was great. They drove us to local resorts in the mornings and restaurants in the evenings. The rooms were warm, clean, and very comfortable. And Akiko's breakfasts were better than what I've had at a five-star hotel.

We had a fantastic New Year's stay as a couple. When the earthquake on 1 January disrupted our train journey, Akiko and Nathan offered helpful advice and booked alternative transport for us. They were also great at communicating before we arrived and knew the local amenities well. The accommodation was cozy and comfortable, and the food was really good. There was plenty more to like, and we hope to return soon.

We ate at Myoko House four of our five nights because Akiko's cooking was so delicious. The included breakfasts were a real bonus for our family ski trip. Nathan and Akiko were fantastic hosts, and getting picked up and dropped off at the train station, plus a ride each morning to whichever ski resort we chose, made everything easy.
