Silverhorn

The private onsen was a lovely bonus, and the location was amazing. We stayed six nights and loved it. The food was excellent, and the staff were wonderful: relaxed, efficient and friendly.

The cozy rooms were perfect for relaxing after a long day on the slopes, and the cuisine was excellent every night. We were at Hotel Silverhorn for several days on our first ski trip to Japan. We loved skiing at Myoko, but the hotel was the best part of the trip. The staff were warm and friendly, and we can’t say enough good things about the place.

Pack earplugs if kids are staying next door, since the walls can be a little thin. That’s the only small thing I’d flag. We’ll definitely be back! This hotel was worth every cent and more for its location, food, room size, private onsen, picturesque view and amazing staff and service. Tom went above and beyond and was the most generous, guest-focused host I’ve ever had. He made everything easy for us. Grants food was next level too, so definitely book some dinners if you stay. Rina was also awesome to communicate with, and extremely helpful and kind. Thanks so much, team! ❤️

The atmosphere was friendly and relaxed, and all the staff were chatty and happy to help. We highly recommend Silverhorn. It’s in a great spot, very close to the gondola, and the rooms were very clean. We had a Japanese room with a shared bathroom, which was no trouble at all, though most rooms have an en-suite. Breakfasts were very good, with cereal as well as a hot option. Dinners felt special. Our highlight was a set menu one night put together by Grant the chef. It was international-standard cooking, a real treat and not something we normally do.
