After a day on the slopes, the onsen was lovely, though it’d be great even without skiing. The location’s spot on, close to town restaurants and the slopes. At Hotel Mumon, everything’s well arranged, the staff are friendly, breakfast is delicious and the beds are comfy.

The staff are lovely and always ready to help. Restaurants and cafes are close by, and a couple of ski fields are only 10 minutes away. It’s a sweet, cosy place with really old-school decor.

We had a great stay, especially for the price and quality. There was hot water, tea and some snacks, and the onsen has a beautiful view through its window. The shared lounge was just perfect, with a real fireplace and the cozy smell of wood that somehow felt luxurious too. We booked the cheapest rooms, which were pretty ordinary. Some had no windows, and the heating hadn’t been turned on when we arrived, so it was cold. Still, one of the best gelande hotels I’ve stayed in. Thanks for having us.

We spent seven nights here. The staff were amazing, friendly and helpful, and there was good food for breakfast and dinner, plus a bar and communal area. Akakura Onsen and Kanko ski resorts are both within walking distance.

The lounge has a fun retro feel, and the hearty food really hits the spot. The staff were nice and made us feel welcome. It’s tucked away in the mountains, a little off the main road, but still not too far from the ski fields.
