We fell asleep to rain coming through the tall trees and woke to birds singing. Akari & Yugo made us an incredible meal with vegetables from the garden and nearby forest, and there were lovely details everywhere, from the craft work to a bath infused with Goji leaves and Horsetail. Such a sublime taste of Japanese hospitality in a traditional house. Thank you very much.

Akari, Yugo and Kanami were wonderful cooks and helped us with everything. The location was beautiful too.

The mountain sounds in the morning made each day of our trip memorable. We stayed two nights and were very happy with the experience. It’s a short drive just outside town, and the staff were friendly and really helpful.

We could only get there at 6PM on check-in day, but a staff member stayed until 8PM to make sure we had what we needed and answer our questions. The service was impeccable throughout our one-night stay. I found the bath deeply relaxing, with fragrant herbs prepared in it. Breakfast the next morning was cooked personally and was amazing, with locally sourced vegetables that made the meal feel especially invigorating. Staying there gave us a real sense of living among locals in the Japanese mountains. I’d highly recommend it.
