The breakfast was one of the best I’ve had at a hotel, and the rooms were clean with plenty of space in the doubles. The staff and hotel are lovely, too. My only gripe is that drinking water isn’t readily available unless you buy it from a vending machine. Otherwise, it’s a comfortable, classy place in a good location.

Dinner and breakfast were both very good. The room and beds felt spacious, and everything had been refurbished recently. A really good stay.

Don't assume this New Otani franchise will feel like the chain's other hotels in Japan. It needs a full remodel, not just a partial refresh of some rooms. During a long stay, you might be told that a room booked months ahead is unavailable for a night or two. Breakfast can be taken over by a large group, leaving you to wait until they're finished, or seated in a dark side room away from everyone else. Laundry service also isn't available every day.

I come to Nagaoka to visit the koi farms, and this hotel makes things easy. It's right by the Shinkansen station, convenient for pickups, and the rooms are tidy with enough space. Everyone was friendly, and almost all the staff speak English. Breakfast was good, too. I highly recommend it.

The breakfast buffet was wonderful, with a big variety of Japanese and European food. The rooms are large, and the service was excellent. It's also very close to the train station. Great hotel.
