The tatami-style housing was much nicer than the cabins. It had comfortable beds, plenty of futons, and little buckwheat pillows that were surprisingly comfortable. The cabins were a different story: the beds felt like bricks, and bugs were everywhere, though at least they provided bug spray. Since the cabin rooms connect through a locked door, you can hear conversations and everything else very clearly. If I came again, I'd look into the hotel rooms or the tatami housing, especially with a larger group. I stayed almost two weeks, and even though I warned them in advance about my reservation, the chefs apparently struggled to cook without meat or fish. Some days the only things I could eat were rice and salad, because every buffet option had meat or fish in it somehow. At least the food was labeled.

The log cabin is a bit of a walk from the main building, but you can request a shuttle bus. They can host large groups and offer various sports and BBQs, so it suits all sorts of guests, from families with young kids to student training camps.

The staff were quick to pick up the small bits of trash, which was really convenient. We had a group BBQ and got to use a full-scale grill that made me feel like I was BBQing in America. The American-sized grill was impressive, and its lid helped cook the meat and vegetables juicy and delicious. The finely chopped vegetables were a bit of a letdown, though, since they tended to fall through to the bottom.
