The location is really convenient: cross the road behind the homestay and you’re at Nagasaki Station. We were traveling with a child and carrying two large suitcases, though, and the fifth floor has no elevator. The homestay should make that clear, since it’s better suited to people with small bags or locals carrying just a small bag. There were no chairs or stools in the room either, so we could only stand or lie on the bed. Two small low stools would have helped. They said they’d email the check-in instructions beforehand, and did send them right at 3 p.m., not a minute earlier.

The spot is hard to beat, right by the station and terminal, and the place has what you need, including lots of towels and kitchen gear. It’s friendly and they respond quickly. Just be aware the stairs are narrow and steep, with no elevator, so hauling luggage or shopping up can be a pain.

The highway bus terminal is just around the corner, and the place has a washer, kitchenette, tub, and fridge. You can reach customer service on Line during business hours. The only drawback for me is that there’s no elevator. Otherwise, I think it’s great.

For the price, especially this close to the station, it seems like a really good deal. The rooms are roomy, with plenty of amenities and kitchen equipment, and the homestay setup looks suited to a couple staying for a while. The building itself is older but has been renovated nicely. There’s no elevator, though, and getting to the third floor or higher by stairs could be tough for older guests or anyone with mobility trouble.
