Seems like a good place for locals who want to stay nearby. If you're thinking of going to Kouri Jima, they do have a kind of luxury camp setup, but I think this place is really only good for Japanese guests. It needs some renovation.

The small scale is part of what makes this place feel so special. Even with every room occupied, it only holds around 30 people, tucked into a hillside forest with the sea in view. It really does feel like a proper hideaway. There’s a yoga room with big mirrors for more than 20 people, plus a kitchen in the same building and about seven twin rooms. A few more twin rooms sit elsewhere, and behind the building there’s an outdoor stage and a patch of woods with stylish tents for camping. It’s only five minutes from Kouri Island. I never expected to find such a lovely place.

What a surprise to find such a lovely hotel and cafe! It’s next to Kouri Island, about eight minutes from Kouri Bridge, so it could be a nice quiet spot to stop for lunch. The driveway up to the entrance is pretty steep. I parked in the lower lot the first time, but there’s parking at the top too, and that’s the better place to leave the car.

Peaceful and tucked into nature, it’s an easy place to forget the city noise for a while. I left feeling relaxed and already wanting to come back.
