We only stayed one night, but Mrs. Nakahira made such an impression that we nearly changed our whole plan to stay at her place longer. After I helped interpret for her with some other guests, she thanked me over and over and offered us breakfast for free, along with gifts. She also drove us more than 40 km to our next destination. This is the best place around Nago for the price and quality, and the hospitality really is something special. Mrs. Nakahira is one of the best people I’ve met. To be clear, she isn’t one of the owners. I can’t recommend staying here enough. Do yourself a favor.

It’s a long way out on the edge of town, but the owner was very nice. There’s no Wi-Fi.

The free washing machine is a plus, and it’s cheap overall. You can park a bicycle inside, and all the rooms are non-smoking. It’s a little far from the city center, though they apparently lend out bicycles. The rooms feel like divided sections of a guesthouse, rather than private rooms, and the doors don’t lock. There are no staff on site, which is a drawback. During my stay, a troublesome long-term guest made noise in the common area late into the night, and there was nobody to ask them to stop. It’s also right by the road, so traffic is loud. Bring earplugs.

There are three private rooms, and the owner is friendly, attentive and flexible. It’s a guesthouse, so don’t expect hotel-level cleanliness, but the futons are clean and towels are provided.
